Maidenbower Utd Sky Blues 0 Saint Hill Blues 16

A very comfortable win repeating cup success a few weeks earlier

This was a game we went into knowing our opponents, having played them
earlier in the season in a Cup game.

As expected we took a dominant position in the game right from the
start and should have been a couple up in the fist 5 minutes, but it
was Maidenbower that could have scored first when one of their men went
clean through and it was left to Toby to pull off a fine save.

We continued to dominate the game and were soon one up when Freddie
scored and soon after got a second. Josh then cut in from the right to
score a great goal up in the far left corner.
William came on after starting on the bench and scored 2 goals - the
second was after an excellent pass from Alex Higham.
Towards the end of the half up popped Max from about the half way line
to hit one which flew past all and into the back of the net, great goal
Max.
To finish the half Alex Bingham got one more which took us in at half
time 7-0 up.

The second half

Similar to the first half, we could have conceded early on, but again
Toby made another good save.

After that we continued to dominate the game with great possession and
if the ball was lost we pushed the opposition hard to get possession
back.
I was really pleased to see that in this game we did not loose our
shape - something that was a little worrying last week.

Anyhow the second half was a real one sided affair and we went on to
scored another 9 goals with 5 from Freddie (wow!), 2 from Alex Bingham
and another from William to complete their hattricks and also one more
for Josh.

This week has been difficult to pick out individuals highlights due to
all the team playing so well but do feel that Adam played a good
captain's role and was so unlucky not to score today.

Freddie, what a great performance, scoring 7 goals putting him back
firmly in the lead on the league's top scorers stats page, and
incidentally Saint Hill Blues are also there as a team.

I thought long and hard about my man of the match today and it was so
hard not to give it to Freddie for his 7 goals tally but did feel that
today I had the chance to give it to someone that in all time I’ve know
him has been such a solid reliable player. I’m now seeing so much more
to his game, with intelligent play, great passing and some quality
balls into the box. Today he supplied a great ball in for William to
score and near the end another great one which Adam almost scored from
on the far post, my man of the match today goes to Alex Higham.
