The Blues set out to defend in numbers against a team who had scored freely against us in our two previous games when we conceded a total of 21 goals! Oliver P picked up the gloves and Nick dropped in to the back line where he played with determination and confidence to deserve his man of the match award. With the wind behind us in the first half the Blues managed to restrict Hawks to a few half chances, and although we threatened little Matt was influential in midfield and was often the source of through balls which provided some threat to the opponents goal. In probably our most disciplined performance of the season when the whole team contributed it is difficult to pick out individuals, but Marcus stuck well to his marking role and was unfortunate to be penalised when the penalty was awarded. Patrick and Chris supported Nick at the centre of the defence, and when Chris was forced off with injury Matt and then J-P filled the vacancy well. Greg provided a strong presence in midfield, and with Tom, Sam, Rob and Oli B chasing down opponents the strong team performance requested was delivered
