CHAILEY
Chailey 18th September 2005
Score : Chailey 3 Saint Hill Blues 0
Saint
Hill Blues started the game with 3 squad members not available so all
the subs on the sideline had a chance to make a difference. A
difference was required after the Saints shipped 2 early goals in the
first quarter. The new shape of the defence struggled to contain the
fast running Chailey forwards who were racing down the slop catching
the Saints off guard. Once Elliott Saxton dropped deeper the game
became more even. The second half saw the Saints trying to inflict the
same damage on Chailey but their defence were more aware of the speed
down the slope and held firm against some speculative attempts on goal
by the Saints. Saints needed a goal to lift them and heads started to
drop especially when the Chailey keeper made some great saves. He
wasn't alone as Will Bishop made some great saves as well to keep the
Saints in the game. Saints went 3 at the back and pushed on another
midfielder but a late goal by Chailey saw off a muted Saint Hill
performance.Â
